My Thoughts

A great summer read, I enjoyed this second book in the A Season in Pinecraft series.  Although this novel stands well on its own, it is helpful to read book one first so you can get some background on a few characters.  I really liked Betsy in this book and appreciated her desire to try and experience new things despite her shy personality and sheltered upbringing.  The romance is sweet and clean and I enjoyed reading about the budding relationship between Betsy and August.  This novel is great for reading on a beach this summer; there isn’t any complex action or fast-paced suspense, but there is a gentle flow that makes this novel quite enjoyable.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing.  Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
