Pelican Point by Irene Hannon

Pelican Point book cover

Ben Garrison is weeks away from retirement from the Army as a physician when he receives a call that his beloved grandfather has passed away and left him an interesting inheritance—a lighthouse in coastal Hope Harbor. Thinking that he will simply travel to the small town to sell the lighthouse before moving on to a career as a physician in Ohio, Ben is struck by the peaceful setting and quirky characters, including the feisty Marci Weber. Marci settled into Hope Harbor several years ago in order to escape her past. She does not appreciate the arrival of Ben and his determination to sell the historic lighthouse. But as Marci butts heads with Ben, she learns that there is more to this Army doctor than meets the eye.

I have really enjoyed this series and was excited to return to picturesque Hope Harbor. The characters in this installment once again have turbulent pasts that create a depth to their personalities with which it is easy to connect. I also really liked the secondary characters and their side story. This author does such a great job of demonstrating how faith grows and changes during difficult circumstances, creating applicable lessons for the reader. I really liked the plot and some interesting twists from the characters’ pasts. The romance is tastefully done. I highly recommend this novel and the whole series!

Sandpiper Cove by Irene Hannon

Sandpiper Cove book cover

Lexie Graham is a single mom with a full time demanding career as police chief, leaving her no time for romance. Adam Stone has a past and it involves the law, so when Lexie catches his eye, he knows it will be a rocky relationship. When Lexie has to enlist Adam’s help to assist a young man, they are forced to spend time together, causing sparks to fly and a different future than either of them anticipated.

I greatly enjoyed the first two installments in this series and was equally delighted by the third novel! I liked the contrasting characters and their interesting, complex pasts that played such a crucial role in their current relationships. The charm of this seaside town does not disappoint and I was pleased to once again read about secondary characters from Hope Harbor. The story unfolds well, a true testament to the author’s skilled writing. Mix together romance and faith, add interesting characters and stories, and you have yet another wonderful Irene Hannon read, recommended to all lovers of contemporary fiction!

Sea Rose Lane by Irene Hannon

Sea Rose Lane book cover

Eric Nash returns home to Hope Harbor to see his father and consider his career options after his position at a prestigious law firm is terminated. Upon arriving home, however, he discovers his beloved childhood home is being converted to a bed and breakfast. Seeking some consistency among the turmoil in his life, he attempts to relax by the sea and take time to rejuvenate. Meanwhile, dedicated and ambitious BJ Stevens is excited to renovate the bed and breakfast for Eric’s dad, but her ideas and methods may cause some tension in the house. As Eric and BJ end up joining forces to help the older residents of Hope Harbor, opinions clash and sparks fly, forcing each of them to face feelings of the past and examine their own hearts.

I enjoyed the writing of this novel and the hope and spiritual aspects interspersed with the plot. The characters are imperfect and easy to connect with and the scenery is picturesque and beautifully told. I liked the story and the way the author connected several plot lines. The romance is tastefully written and not rushed or unbelievable. It was great to read about some past characters from the first novel in this series but reading this first book is not required in order to understand and appreciate this story. I recommend this book to those who like contemporary romance!
