My Thoughts

Chilling and suspenseful, this novel pulls you in, grips you tight, and keeps you reading long into the night!  I really liked the setting of this newest series by a talented author.  It was easy to imagine the frigid Alaskan frontier.  I also loved the interactions of Autumn and Grier.  Their relationship developed believably as the fast-paced action never let up.  The characters are realistic and relatable, and I enjoyed the growth of faith they experienced.  And let’s not forget the incredible action and twists and turns in this novel, with eerie villains and an ending I did not see coming.  This is one of those books where you want to call in sick to work so you can cozy up with a blanket and read it straight through so you can find out what happens!  I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to read the next one in the series!

My Thoughts

Suspense and mystery abound in this story from beginning to end!  I really liked the characters in this novel, especially Mackenzie, who is flawed but realistic and demonstrates strength despite difficult circumstances.  I love how the author takes time to create characters with depth while still creating a plot that is full of action.  The romance is believable and well integrated into the fast paced story.  I had a really hard time putting the novel down as the suspense kept my attention easily.  The setting is well written into the story and makes it easy to visualize the scenes.  I liked the spiritual themes interwoven into the plot.  I have really enjoyed this series and thought this novel was a great addition!  Highly recommended!

My Thoughts

This series has been so good; jam packed with action and suspense!  I loved Erin and Nathan.  They have such a fierce love for family and their passion for helping family and friends is incredible.  I liked that they had a past and then reconnected to form a new relationship years later; it made their relationship more realistic and believable, I think.  The suspense in this book is spot on: it starts with a bang and has tons of surprising twists and turns!  I had a really hard time putting the book down.  I do not think you have to read the first book to understand this one, but there are a few characters that appear in both stories, which is fun to read.  I really enjoyed this novel and cannot wait for book three.  I definitely recommend this series to all lovers of contemporary suspense!

My Thoughts

This novel is a great start to an awesome new suspense series!  I’m always really impressed with the detail and research that Elizabeth Goddard writes in her novels and this book is just as good as her last series.  She even includes accurate specifics like the mountains of paperwork that these agents have to complete and the legalities of an investigation, such as obtaining the correct permits.  This attention to detail makes the story come alive and seem more realistic to me.  I also loved the action and suspense in the novel and did not suspect the villain until the secret was revealed at the end!  The relationship of the main characters (old flames forced to work together) is one of my favorite romantic tropes and the author does a great job of building on their past relationship and moving the romance forward.  The scenic setting was easy to picture with the vivid descriptions and served as a great backdrop for the story.  I enjoyed this novel and cannot wait for book two!

Slide1

This series has been so good!  I liked the complexity of the plot in this book, as the different threads slowly begin to connect as the plot rushes through the fast-paced action.  The romance starts as the banter of old enemies and grows into a realistic relationship.  I liked both Rae and Liam a lot and enjoyed reading about their interactions and growth. The romance is clean and believable. The story is well written and I found myself flipping pages late into the night.  I liked the spiritual concepts that were woven into the action, although they are subtler than some other Christian fiction.  I liked this book and have enjoyed the whole series!  I recommend this to lovers of romantic suspense!

Always Look Twice by Elizabeth Goddard

Always Look Twice book cover.jpg

Previously a crime scene photographer, Harper Reynolds listens to her therapist and decides on a more peaceful job of taking photos of the nature.  But her past catches up to her when she actually takes photos of a murder while attempting to shoot outdoor photographs.  However, the murderer catches Harper taking his picture, forcing her to run and hide.  Reserve Deputy Heath McKade is tasked with keeping Harper safe, but the enemy is determined to keep his crimes secret, stopping at nothing to make sure Harper cannot speak.

My heart was pounding in the first chapter!  This book opens with a bang (no pun intended) and the action keeps the plot moving throughout the story.  I really enjoyed the characters because they are real and relatable and also have spunk and courage that makes them very likable.  There is suspense and mystery that keep you turning the pages long into the night!  The plot slows intermittently to intertwine spiritual themes and clean romance.  I have really enjoyed this series so far, and I do not think you need to read them in order.  I look forward to the next book in the series and I recommend this to those who love Christian suspense!

Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard

Never Let Go book cover

Willow Anderson uses her career as a forensic genealogist to pursue answers about a baby abducted from a hospital more than two decades ago.  As she comes closer to the truth, someone does not want her discovering all the answers and begins to threaten and endanger her life.  She turns to a previous crush and ex-FBI agent, Austin McKade, who is eager to help her and work closely with her.  Old love and tender emotions flare up as they race against the clock to solve the mystery before it is too late.

This book has nonstop action from the beginning to the end as the story unfolds and twists and turns unexpectedly.  The action slows down briefly at moments to develop the interesting characters and allow their romance to blossom.  There is even room for faith based principles of honesty and forgiveness.  This is my first book by this author and I am eager to read more by her!  She has a gift for story telling and her words grab you and do not let go.  I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
