Honor Redeemed by Christine Johnson

Honor Redeemed book cover

Prosperity Jones, having recently buried her dear mother, sets sail for Key West in order to find her fiancé, a Lieutenant in the American army. When she arrives, however, she discovers her beloved David is married to someone else. Penniless and dismayed, she finds a job in a local hospital and the friendship of a kind doctor. As she learns to lean on her new friends, she finds herself attracted to the physician, but circumstances from her past may upend her new life in Key West.

A poignant, emotional love story set against a beautiful backdrop of scenic Key West, this novel is full of heartache and redemption. I absolutely loved Prosperity, her emotion made me cry and her hurt made my heart ache, but her faith shines through despite her circumstances. Both she and David must learn to apologize and to forgive each other despite the pain and dismay in their relationship. There are twists I was not expecting that made the plot even more interesting. This is truly a remarkable book with relatable themes, lovable characters, and significant depth. The first novel in this series is not required to enjoy this book, but will give more background on some of the characters. I really liked this novel and recommend it to all lovers of historical romance.

I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
