Murder Comes by Mail by A. H. Gabhart

Murder Comes book cover

Deputy Sheriff Michael Keane is finally settling into his job in small town in Kentucky after solving the mystery of several murders not long ago. However, his peace is short lived as he finds himself saving the life of a suicidal man hoping to jump from Eagle River Bridge. Not only is the man ungrateful, however, but also he suspiciously seems to be tied to a strange mailing of photos of a dead girl. Michael attempts to prove one theory after another, as the killer remains one step ahead of the law. The small town is once again thrown into frenzy and Hidden Springs begins to unravel. Michael must solve this mystery for his new town or risk losing one of their own next.

Another exciting mystery from A. H. Gabhart! The plot has a few surprises that are not altogether predictable, which lends an air of excitement to the book. The writing is so easy going and laid back; although there are several murders, the actual language of the story is surprisingly rather cozy. Sprinkle in character development and romance and this novel has something for everyone. A few of the characters were harder to connect with for me but overall I enjoyed the book and look forward to more in the series. I recommend this novel to those who enjoy a bit of mystery!

I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
